Actor, Frenchman and United legend, Eric Cantona has made public a startling ambition; he wants to manage Manchester United and the England national team.

Cantona spent four and a half years at United during the 90’s and played a key role in United’s domination of the time winning 4 Premier League titles. He was the fans favourite and the heartbeat of the team.

Talking of the future managerial vacancy at Old Trafford, Cantona said : “Today I can enjoy it even more, but maybe in the future, in a few years’ time when Ferguson retires, yeah, why not? I’d love to.”

One stumbling block is that that the Frenchman admits he has not taking his coaching badges but he doesn’t see that as a problem, when asked he simply replied: “I don’t need them, I’ve got the feeling.”

Speaking at a promotional event, Cantona also added his two cents worth on the summer saga surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo: “We all want - all the fans of United want - the best players to play for United. He’s the best player in the world so we all want him to stay at United, but if he wants to leave I think United will still win things.

“United is the biggest club in the world, they will win things generation after generation,” added Cantona. “They won things, are winning things and will continue to win things whoever is playing for them.”

Whatever the future holds for Cantona, his ambitions are clear for all to see: “Manager of Manchester first, if I can, and then manager of England. With United, I’ll win many things.”
